Brain Tumor Scares, Career Moves, & What I’ve Learned Through Them Both
I’ve been turning this post over in my mind for the last few months, debating the external value of this particular story. But, there’s worth in sharing both the big and the small, the easy and the difficult.
I spent the last few weeks of 2020 wondering if I had a benign brain tumor.
And, since people who don’t know my approach to health will be reading this, it wasn’t an “I googled and found non-peer-reviewed, scare tactic articles” situation. I went in for some in-depth, yet routine, testing for ongoing health concerns, and this came up. Talk about the unexpected.
I went from expecting the same results about high testosterone, low cortisol, and poor methylation to all those *plus* the chance of a benign pituitary tumor.
On New Year’s Eve, though, I got the follow-up results showing that, while I don’t have a brain buddy (my maybe unhealthy coping mechanism of a term for it those few weeks), my search for answers continues.
I’m choosing to believe that my story can be used for more than doctor visits and fast explanations on why I don’t eat gluten, dairy, soy, grains, seed oils, and refined sugar when offered…
